The Community Outreach and Fitness Committees are pairing up to bring you TWO fun options to support our own member, Michelle Ernsdorff, and the Compass to Care 1st Annual 5K for kids with cancer. Compass to Care raises funds to help parents pay for the necessary travel expenses to get their children to cancer treatment. Here are two ways you can get involved:
1.) Register with our team of runners! Click "View teams" to find our team - "Park Ridge Newcomers Club" (password "PRNC 2016") - and sign up. This is where members can also donate money if they do NOT want to run with our team but want to help us raise money for the charity. Price per runner is $30 until 9/22 and goes up to $35 afterwards.
2.) Volunteer with your kids! The race organizers will need help with water stations, registration tables, clean up afterwards, etc. For members looking for service hours for their older kids, this is a great opportunity for the entire family to get involved. Simply go to the link provided and click "Volunteer" on the left side tool bar.

About Compass to Care
Compass to Care was founded in 2010 by Park Ridge resident, Michelle Ernsdorff. When Michelle was just 14 months old she was diagnosed with kidney cancer. Her parents struggled to pay for the travel expenses necessary to get her to cancer treatment. She founded Compass to Care, in her parents' honor, to help parents pay for the necessary travel expenses to get their children to cancer treatment.
Compass to Care has over 100 children in treatment. By participating in this 5K, you will allow them to help even more.
